오래된 주택을 고쳐 갤러리로 탈바꿈 시킨 공간으로
그 이름처럼 공공으로 열려있으며 성별, 국적을 초월하여
끝없이 스파크가 튀는 공간을 꿈꿉니다.
또한 공간은 젊은 예술가들을 지원하며 지역 주민들의 쉼터가 되는 시설의 역할을 자처합니다.
멀리서 온 관광객들, 마을에 사는 주민들,
누구든 편하게 들어와 전시를 보면서, 또 마당을 거닐면서
예기치 못한 기쁨과 편안함을 누리길 바랍니다.
Space Thunder is a gallery run by Thunder Comics.
It is a space that has been transformed from an old house into a gallery
Like its name, it is open to the public and dreams of an endlessly sparky space across gender and nationality.
The space also supports young artists and serves as a shelter for local residents.

:예술가의 삶과 작업기록
예술가의 작업은 결과물만으로 설명되지 않는다. 완성된 작품 뒤에는 반복되는 실패와 수정, 생계를 위한 노동, 작업실의 고독, 관계와 감정 그리고 끝없이 이어지는 질문의 시간이 존재한다. 기획전 《작업실의 시간들》은 미술대학원 재학생과 기성작가가 함께 참여하여, 예술가로 살아가는 삶의 구조와 작업의 과정을 기록하고 드러내는 전시이다.
이 전시는 단순히 완성된 작품을 보여주는 데 그치지 않고, 예술가가 작업을 지속하기 위해 감당하는 시간과 현실을 하나의 예술적 시료로 바라본다. 특히 서로 다른 위치에 있는 작가 ‘제도 안에서 가능성을 탐색하는 대학원생’과 이미 현장에서 활동 중인 젊은 기성작가’를 함께 배치함으로써 세대 간의 간극과 공통된 고민을 동시에 드러내고자 한다.
이를 통해 ‘작가가 된다는 것’과 ‘작가로 지속한다는 것’ 사이의 긴장과 현실을 관객과 공유한다. 이전시는 작업실 풍경, 드로잉, 메모, 실패작, 인터뷰, 작업 과정 영상 등 다양한 기록물을 함께 전시함으로써 예술가의 삶 자체를 하나의 동시대적 아카이브로 제안한다.

The Lives and Working Records of Artists
An artist’s practice cannot be fully explained by its final outcomes alone. Behind every completed work lie countless hours of repetition, failure and revision, labor undertaken for a living, solitude in the studio, relationships and emotions, and an endless process of questioning. The group exhibition 《Time(s) in the Studio》 brings together graduate students in art and established artists to document and reveal the structures of life and the processes of work involved in living as an artist.
Rather than simply presenting finished works, the exhibition considers the time and realities artists must navigate in order to sustain their practices as artistic material in themselves. In particular, by bringing together artists in different positions—“graduate students exploring possibilities within the institutional framework” and “young established artists already active in the field”—the exhibition seeks to reveal both the generational gap between them and the concerns they share.
Through this, the exhibition explores and shares with the audience the tension and realities between “becoming an artist” and “continuing to live as one.” By presenting various forms of documentation—including studio scenes, drawings, notes, failed works, interviews, and videos of the working process—the exhibition proposes the lives of artists themselves as a contemporary archive.
